Rest and Radiance Retreat
November 22-24th 2019

We will be staying at the amazing and beautiful Dharma Centre of Canada!
(Pictures below)

Join Zen Master Ian Paul Marshall for a weekend retreat where you’ll have the chance to bring the body to rest, let go of all your mental mayhem, discover inner stillness and then be introduced to the fundamentally empty and radiant nature of mind.

Zen is…“A special transmission outside the scriptures, not founded upon words and letters. by pointing directly to one’s mind, it lets one see into one’s own true nature and thus attain buddhahood.”

During this weekend retreat we will calm the body, let our turbulent thoughts come to rest, and then cut through to the Luminous and Radiant mind that the Buddha discovered and revealed over 2500 years ago.

All fees below include accommodations and meals.

Dana for the Teacher

Since we will be staying at the amazing and beautiful Dharma Centre of Canada we will following their method of Dana for the Teacher. What is Dana? Dana means giving or generosity. Teachers give the Dharma and if you feel moved and compelled then you give back to them monetarily. Each time one receives teachings, it is an opportunity to consciously practice generosity (which is one of the 6 Paramitas in the Buddhist tradition). Giving money and other means of support expresses gratitude and support to the teacher and helps to ensure that these teachings continue. Each person receiving Dharma teachings determines the kind and amount of Dāna according to one’s heart and one’s financial means. When deciding how much to offer, one should think about what these teachings mean to you and try to give accordingly. We will be doing a Dana ceremony at the end of the retreat.

Do I Need to be an Experienced Meditator to Participate?

Nope. The day is structured so that each meditation session is progressive. This isn’t your typical cold, stark Zen sitting practice with no guidance, instruction or compassion. You will be eased into a deep meditative state.

Even experienced meditators will enjoy the process of letting go layer upon layer of thoughts, emotions, and stresses that keep them from tapping into the inner stillness and awareness that is inherent in each and every one of us.
