In the Beginning

In the beginning
There was neither existence nor non-existence then.
All this world was unmanifest energy.
There was neither the realm of space nor the sky which is beyond.
There was neither death nor immortality then.
There was no distinguishing the sign of night nor of the day.
Oneness breathed, without breath, by its own impulse and power.
Other than that there was nothing beyond.
Darkness was hidden by darkness in the beginning,
With no distinguishing sign.
All this was pure potentiality.
And then something stirred in the deep.
An impulse, a desire, a thought,
“Let us explore all the possibilities of our potential. Let’s play.”
And from that infinite stillness arose a thunderous sound.
And light came to be.
And in an instant all of existence came to be.
And we gazed at the splendour, beauty and magnificence of it all.
We wanted to explore and play.
To become lost in the effulgence of our creative display.
Then to find our way back home to truth.
And so it was that the great forgetting began.
We dove into the ovean of ignorance.
Believing ourselves to be small, separate from each other and alone.
We tasted suffering for the first time
And became lost in a sea of selfish despair.
But don’t worry, this isn’t where our story ends.
Remember this is just the beginning.
For deep within us sleeps the wisdom of the truth of who we truly are.
And if we become silent for a moment we may hear a soft voice whispering,

“Awaken my love awaken.
You’ve forgotten who you truly are.
Don’t you remember that this is a game?

All this is consciousness.
All this is illuminating suchness.
All that you see, hear, smell, touch and taste is nothing but suchness.
All reality is shimmering, radiant, joyful suchness.
Words cannot truly describe it.

But know that all of this is just the free play of mind.

The true essence of who you are my beloved is suchness.
A magnitude of magnificence that is the basis and becoming of all.

That is your true self.
Your natural essence.
Your first face.

You can feel it..
Deep within – you can feel it.

The truth of you
Is timeless, vast and beyond words.

When you gaze upon all of existence you are really looking upon yourself.

This blissful, radiant compassionate suchness is the reality of everything and is the truth of who you are.

But you’ve forgotten my beloved.
You’ve been lost in the game we created for ourselves.

And in this forgetting you have suffered.
You have wandered.
And you have believed that you were alone and separate from it all.

But all of it is you.

Remember my dear remember.
All that you are is all that is.
And all that is, is pure illuminating suchness.
And suchness is you.

Eternity's Call

There’s an urge. A calling. An impulse that sleeps inside of you. Whispering. Nudging. Pushing. Constantly reminding you of something that takes titanium like courage to remember.
It knows you want to acknowledge it’s calls. It’s far wiser than you. It sees potential where you see failure. It knows only triumph while you brood over imagined defeat.
It bears witness to your flailings, tantrums and doubts.
But it still beckons you to see what it sees. To know what it knows. And to join its quest. A journey of pure potential. An adventure beyond anything that you can imagine.
We all know that it’s there.
And sometimes we listen. Sometimes our fears are sleeping but for a moment. And we hear the quiet call of our heart.
And in that brief moment we move forward. We take a tentative step toward a vision. A view of ourselves that sparks in us a desire – to be more, do more and see more.
It’s not easy. Fear wages a war against us. It knows that it must move fast. Because if we continue, if we but claim that new vision as our true self, it will have lost its power.
But if we break free from fears talon’s we will discover the miracle of beginning.
There’s magic in that moment when we step forward. When we move toward a greater aspect of ourselves. Unseen forces gather around us. Empower us. Fill our sails. Point us toward an un-chartered direction. And give our dreams flight.

“All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his or her way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now.” ~ W.H. Murray

So listen. Eternity’s calling you. Is it time to answer? Is it time to begin?

Attraversiamo – Let's Crossover

The middle ground of life is a double sided coin. On one side is the comfort of the familiar. And on the other the fear of the unknown.
We sort-of crave and are repulsed by both.
We hate being in the gray zone. That in between place. Stuck between worlds. Not sure where we’re going and a little hurt by where we’ve been.
But at the same time we crave routine. We do everything in our power to create it. And if it’s shaken in any way, we’re rocked to the core.
But you see, it’s that possibility, of touching your core that brings about the greatest insights, awareness and understanding.
And maybe somewhere within our minds we know that.
We know that if we have the courage to “crossover” and move forward we’ll be stepping into the unknown. Discovering aspects of who we are. Exploring unchartered territories of ourselves. And there’s a huge chance that we’ll step forward naked, wearing only our scars of triumph and defeat for the world to see.
And this scares the crap out of us. So much so that we’ll choose to stay stuck.
Stuck in our pain. Stuck in our problems. And stuck in our patterns.
Because we’re used to them. We’re comforted by them. We’ve become numb to whatever pain and discomfort that comes along with staying exactly where we are. And we’ll choose that life, that way of living, over the possibility of something more.
The crazy thing is that no matter how hard we cling to the past, or where we are right now, life keeps moving forward. And we can resist it, which we do alot, or we can choose to be swept up in the tides of change.
We can choose to crossover.
Attraversiamo! (Let’s crossover.)

Openess & Insight

“If we imagine that our mind is like the blue sky,
and that across it pass thoughts as clouds,
we can get a feel for that part of it which is other than our thoughts.

The sky is always present;
it contains the clouds and yet is not contained by them.

So with our awareness.
It is present and encompasses all our thoughts, feelings, and sensations;
yet it is not the same as them.

To recognize and acknowledge this awareness,
with its spacious, peaceful quality,
is to find a very useful resource within.

We see that

Michael Jackson & The Meaning Of Life

mj“This is the moment. This is it.” Michael Jackson

I think that it’s finally really settled in for me, Michael Jackson is dead. The king of pop, the greatest entertainer ever, is no longer with us.
And no matter what you may think of his personal life or his inner demons, when it came to his fans, to you and me, he gave it his all.
I remember when I first heard Michael Jackson say, “This is the moment. This is it.” I had goosebumps. The Buddha within him had pushed through all the noise within the world and spoken directly to the very essence of my tender heart.
It’s now been a little while since Michael has been laid to rest which got me to thinking about what I’ve learned from this mountain of a man.

What We Can Learn From Michael Jackson The King Of Pop

  • Create an experience, not just a song
  • Be yourself, no matter what other people think
  • Work with others and watch the magic happen
  • Believe you can change the world, and use your talents to do just that
  • This is the moment, so give it everything you’ve got

Create an experience, not just a song
I can still remember when the Thriller video was launched. It was more than a song, it was an experience, and I wanted to be a part of it.
I counted down the days until the release of that video.

Are You Expressing The Three You's?

3aspctsAristotle, the great thinker of ancient times, was a worrisome man. And chiefly he devoted his attentions to discovering and uncovering ideas that would benefit lives of the people as a whole.
He worried and fretted about the three lives of the “good society”:

  • The first life is the life of productivity and knowledge gathering
  • The second, the life of entertainment
  • The third, the life of reflection and contemplation.

He believed and thought that to be happy we must nurture these three aspects of the self.

Your Hero's Journey

Embracing Our Own Hero’s Journey

JA“A hero ventures forth from the world of common day into a region of supernatural wonder: fabulous forces are there encountered and a decisive victory is won: the hero comes back from this mysterious adventure with the power to bestow boons on his fellow man.” ~ Joseph Campbell

Joseph Campbell’s book The Power of Myth shifted major paradigms for me several years back. One of the major concepts that Campbell helped to bring to our awareness was the concept of the Hero’s Journey.
The Hero’s Journey, also called the monomyth, is an archetypal pattern found within stories from countless cultures from all over the globe. It’s a process that we all go through when we find ourselves in the midst of major transformation.
Campbell identified seventeen stages of the hero’s journey. That’s not to say that we go through each and every one of them. But there may be major segments from the path that we find ourselves in as we undergo severe life upheavals and metamorphosis.

The Seventeen Stages of the Hero’s Journey (Monomyth)

  1. The Call to Adventure
  2. Refusal of the Call
  3. Supernatural Aid
  4. The Crossing of the First Threshold
  5. Belly of The Whale
  6. The Road of Trials
  7. The Meeting With the Goddess
  8. Woman as Temptress
  9. Atonement with the Father
  10. Apotheosis
  11. The Ultimate Boon
  12. Refusal of the Return
  13. The Magic Flight
  14. Rescue from Without
  15. The Crossing of the Return Threshold
  16. Master of Two Worlds
  17. Freedom to Live

Your Journey

If you take a look at the hero’s journey your sure to realize and notice similar occurrences and instances in your own life. This journey that we’re all on tends to leave us

Don't We All?

Don’t We All?

dontweallWe can all learn from this . . . .

I was parked in front of the mall wiping off my car. I had just come from the car wash and was waiting for my wife to get out of work.
Coming my way from across the parking lot was what society would consider a bum.
From the looks of him, he had no car, no home, no clean clothes and no money. There are times when you feel generous but there are other times that you just don’t want to be bothered. This was one of those “don’t want to be bothered times.”
“I hope he doesn’t ask me for any money,” I thought. He didn’t.
He came and sat on the curb in front of the bus stop but he didn’t look like he could have enough money to even ride the bus.
After a few minutes he spoke. “That’s a very pretty car,” he said. He was ragged but he had an air of dignity around him. His scraggly blond beard keep more than his face warm.
I said, “thanks,” and continued wiping off my car.
He sat there quietly as I worked. The expected plea for money never came. As the silence between us widened something inside said, “ask him if he needs any help.” I was sure that he would say “yes” but I held true to the inner voice.
“Do you need any help?” I asked.
He answered in three simple but profound words that I shall never forget. We often look for wisdom in great men and women. We expect it from those of higher learning and accomplishments.
I expected nothing but an outstretched grimy hand. He spoke the three words that shook me.
“Don’t we all?” he said.
I was feeling high and mighty, successful and important, above a bum in the street, until those three words hit me like a twelve gauge shotgun. Don’t we all?
I needed help. Maybe not for bus fare or a place to sleep, but I needed help. I reached in my wallet and gave him not only enough for bus fare, but enough to get a warm meal and shelter for the day. Those three little words still ring true.
No matter how much you have, no matter how much you have accomplished, you need help too.
No matter how little you have, no matter how loaded you are with problems, even without money or a place to sleep, you can give help.
Even if it’s just a compliment, you can give that. You never know when you may see someone that appears to have it all. They are waiting on you to give them what they don’t have. A different perspective on life, a glimpse at something beautiful, a respite from daily chaos, that only you through a torn world can see.
Maybe the man was just a homeless stranger wandering the streets. Maybe he was more than that.
Maybe he was sent by a power that is great and wise, to minister to a soul too comfortable in themselves.
Maybe God looked down, called an Angl, dressed him like a bum, then said, “go minister to that man cleaning the car, that man needs help.”
Don’t we all?

Sleep & Grow Rich

The Lazy Person’s Guide To Wealth

slpDo you want to know an easy way to be wealthy? Of course you do. Who doesn’t. That’s why there’s all those get rich quick schemes within the world. We’re all looking for happiness. And we all are a little bit lazy, that’s why we spring at the chance to make a quick buck. But alas those get rich quick schemes never work.
But I have a solution!
And no you don’t have to send away for my special ten week course, jam packed with secret tips, discovered 2000 years ago. And no you don’t have to work hard, slaving at your desk to the wee hours of the morning.
All you have to do is go to sleep.
No really. It’s totally easy.
It’s supposed to be easy. Nature doesn’t struggle to be abundant. That’s because Ole Mother Nature knows her truth. Which is abundance. And guess what? Abundance is woven into the very fibre of our being. All we have to do is to remember that. Be easy about it.
So what’s all this talk about sleep & grow rich?
Well have you ever noticed that you may doing your affirmations like, “I am wealthy.” or “I am rich.” or “I am abundant.” but nothing is happening. Maybe even things are getting worse in your financial affairs.
Well the problem is that pesky, conscious mind of ours.
We’re trying to plant these abundant seeds into our fertile subconscious mind, which is ready and willing to nurture those seeds and turn them into money trees, but our conscious mind keeps digging them up.
The conscious mind looks around at your life and keeps screaming at you saying that “Your lying.”
Well, the way around that little monkey mind of ours is not to focus on ourselves but try just focussing on the concept.

  • Just focus on wealth.
  • Turn your thoughts towards images of wealth.
  • Generate a feeling of wealth.

Both your conscious and subconcious minds will be OK with that. The conscious mind will find no fault in that line of thinking and will let pass those wealth seeds. They’ll be planted into your subconscious mind.
And since your subconscious mind is in oneness with all of existence the law of attraction will draw into your life abundance beyond your wildest dreams.
The money trees will start to grow.
The best time to do this is just as your going to sleep.
See, I told you it would be easy. It’s supposed to be.
Be wealthy.
Be inspirational!

Wisdom & Philosophy

Diving Deep Into Wisdom & Philosophy

Buddha - Wisdom - Philosophy

Philosophy, the very word, means love for wisdom, and they have nothing to do with wisdom at all.Wisdom happens only through meditation; it never happens by collecting information. It happens by going through a transformation.

Wisdom is the flowering of your consciousness, the opening of the one-thousand-petaled lotus of your being. It is the release of your fragrance, the release of the imprisoned splendor.

Real philosophy has nothing to do with thinking; on the contrary it has everything to do with transcending thinking, going beyond and beyond thinking, going beyond mind, reaching to the pure space of no-mind. Out of that space something flowers in you.

You can call it Christ-consciousness, Buddhahood, or whatsoever you like. That is true philosophy.~ OSHO

My friend Theodore who owns Snow Lion which supports the Buddhist practice is always telling me to go deeper. Deeper into meditation. Deeper into awareness. Deeper into the radiant beauty of this moment.

So let us go deeper and deeper and deeper into our radiant and timeless perfection.

Be well and prosperous!
